The work-train going through here daily indicates that
the Lackawanna has started tearing up the old west-bound main track
between Port Morris yard and Washington, a distance of 17 1/2 miles.

Andover Junction Station Burns Down
The Lehigh and Hudson Valley Railroad station at Andover
Junction was completely destroyed by fire about 4 a. m. Wednesday morning.
The fire, starting in the basement, made fast headway in the wooden
structure so that Andover firemen had little chance to save the building.
Rail traffic was slowed but not entirely disrupted.
