New Jersey Herald - January 11, 1917 issue
Daniel Plant, the popular station agent
at Branchville Junction, and Miss Emily Richards, daughter of John
Richards, were quietly married at the home of the bride's grandmother,
Mrs. Edward Meyers, on Saturday evening at eight o'clock, by the Rev.
Frank A.,Scofield, pastor of the Presbyterian church. Mrs. Earl Snover
was the only attendant. They have our best wishes for a happy and
prosperous married life.

An agreement was entered into whereby
the Hyper-Humus Company, which is lowering the bed of the Paulinskill,
can remove a stone bridge near Lafayette to take its dredger down
stream. The company agrees to tear down the old bridge and build new
abutments and wing walls within twenty-one days after the old bridge
is removed. The county will furnish the floor and railing of the new
structure.
Sussex Register - June 7, 1917 issue
James Frenche, formerly of Waterloo,
this county, well known in Newton, died last Saturday at St. Mary's
Hospital, Hoboken. The interment was made on Tuesday in West Laurel
Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia. Mr. Frenche was owner of a large number
of tracts throughout Sussex County, especially in the vicinity from
Cranberry Lake to Waterloo. He was extremely active, despite his eighty
odd years, and commuted almost daily from Hoboken to Cranberry Lake,
where he conducted a saw mill. Mr. Frenche was the owner of certain
rights on Cranberry Lake, this county.
