Last Sunday William and Harvey Plotts,
Edward Ackerson, William H. Benson and J. frank Backster visited Andover
and made a tour of inspection of the gigantic and marvelous work being
done by contractors Gahagan and Flickwir on the D. L. & W. R. R.
cut-off. This, while only saving about thirty miles in shortening the
distance from the far west to New York City, is recognized as one of
the greatest pieces of railroad engineering on the face of the globe.
No one residing in a reasonable distance should fail to see the formation
and construction of this wonderful feat of railroad engineering.
