Another Railroad Tieup

This Lackawanna locomotive tied up traffic at Newton station most of last Thursday morning when its front wheels jumped the track just above the crossing at Diller avenue. The pilot wheels left the ice-coated track as the train was leaving the station shortly before 8 a.m. bound for Branchville.

Passenger and other cars were uncoupled and pulled back to a siding in the Newton yards, and a large section of the track was damaged when the locomotive was pulled back onto the tracks. Conductor in charge of the train was William Reinisch and William R. McNeil was Engineer.
