New Turntable at Newton Terminal

Lackawanna has Started Construction on Electrically Operated Device to Replace Hand Operated One.

The Lackawanna Railroad has started work on construction of a new turntable at Newton Terminal. The new turntable will be electrically operated and will replace a hand operated one. The new device will be equipped to handle the line's largest engines.

The turntable will be constructed on the site of the old roundhouse. Several small buildings in the yards at Newton depot will be razed to make way for the new device.

The railroad also is having the station at Newton improved. Workmen have painted the outside of the building and have started painting the interior.
