Died at Newton Hospital about 11:30 A.M. Yesterday

Joseph Ryan, forty year old resident of West Orange, died about 11:30 o'clock yesterday morning at the Newton Memorial Hospital from internal injuries he received while working on the viaduct that will cross the D.L. & W.R.R. on the new alignment of Route s-31[Rt. 206 -DR] near Branchville.

He was brought to the hospital Tuesday afternoon about 2:30 in a critical condition from internal injuries.

Information concerning the accident has been difficult to obtain, but it is understood that he was working between two forms for concrete and that one or both of them collapsed pinning him to the ground.

He was employed by the Highway Corporation of 120 Lister Avenue, Newark.
