The Dangerous R. R. Crossing at Drake's Pond

Surveyor Konkle has completed the map of the crossing of the Lackawanna railway at Drake's pond, practically within the limits of Newton. This map shows in a better and more conclusive way the extreme dangerousness of this crossing than could be shown in any other manner. It also points out a remedy for its abatement that should be speedly (sic) adopted. We are glad that this important matter is in the hands of a competent committee appointed by the Board of Trade. Now that Mr. Konkle's map is completed, it is hoped the committee will at once proceed with the work it was appointed to do and that the town and railroad authorities will act conjointly in a matter that is so mutually important.
