Work Begun on Cut-Off

The work of constructing the branch from the Sussex Railroad to Stanhope to connect with the main line of the Lackawanna road, was commenced last week. The spur will strike the Sussex road at the foot of the mountain, near the switch leading to Allen's quarry, instead of at Cranberry Lake.

Cut-Off Nearly Finished

The new timetable on the Sussex railroad and cut-off has again been postponed for another week. On Tuesday a cinder train was put on the cut-off and the road is being ballasted. From present indications the cut-off is likely to go into service at any time, On the 15th we will probably travel to New York via the new route.
