Last week a new locomotive, the largest on the line, was placed on the D.L. & W. R. R. It has been named the "Sussex"


New Jersey Herald - May 22, 1889 issue

Last week a black snake, measuring nearly seven feet, was killed by the track man on the Sussex Railroad, near Puder's Station.


New Jersey Herald - July 31, 1889 issue

The old locomotive, "Sussex" has been returned from the shops completely remodeled. It has been fitted up with air-brakes, and is now considered one of the best engines on the Sussex Road.
