Sussex Railroad Telegraph

Thursday morning last the Sussex Railroad company commenced the erection of the telegraph line between Waterloo and Franklin, and last evening had the wire up as far as Monroe Corner. It is a single wire and is to be used only by the company in the running of trains. At Waterloo the Sussex and D. L. & W. companies employ an operator; at the Newton depot Mr. Drake, an operator from Washington, will be in charge of the office, and at Franklin Mr. Smith, the present operator of the Midland, will act in the same capacity for the Sussex company. At Andover and Warbasse's Junction a telephone connection will be made with the offices. The line will be completed tomorrow, and will be in operation in a few days.
