Branchville Engine 'Fury' Runs Away

The Branchville engine, the "Fury," became disabled last week by some accident to her machinery, so that the engineer lost his control of her, and she dashed up the road at a fearful rate of speed. Fortunately, however the steam gave out before the terminus was reached and no serious result ensued. Our friend Henry Strader was on board and says he prayed fervently to have some one throw her off the track, as he did not care to get home so soon. The engine was sent to Jersey City for repairs and will return in a few days.
